As a Special District of the State of California, the Madera Cemetery District
is a public cemetery established by the voters of the Madera-Raymond area in 1946;
expanded to the Coarsegold-Oakhurst area in 1955 and to the Madera County area of
North Fork in 1957.

All cemetery gates shall be closed
to vehicle access from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 A.M. If the gates are closed during daylight
hours the turnstiles can be used for public access. The cemetery is closed to the
public after dusk.
